JAPIM publishes scholarly work spanning the full spectrum of anesthetic practice and pain management — from fundamental mechanisms of nociception and pharmacology to advanced interventional techniques, regional anesthesia, critical care, and palliative medicine. Aims and Scope
JAPIM welcomes submissions in the following areas, including but not limited to:
- Anesthesiology: General and regional anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, pediatric and geriatric anesthesia, neuroanesthesia, cardiothoracic anesthesia, ambulatory anesthesia, and perioperative medicine
- Pain Medicine: Acute and chronic pain management, cancer pain, neuropathic pain, headache and orofacial pain, musculoskeletal pain, and multimodal analgesia
- Interventional Techniques: Ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, epidural and spinal interventions, radiofrequency ablation, neuromodulation, spinal cord stimulation, and image-guided pain procedures
- Critical Care and Resuscitation: Airway management, sedation practices, ICU analgesia, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Pharmacology: Opioid and non-opioid analgesics, local anesthetics, adjuvant therapies, and opioid stewardship
- Palliative and Supportive Care: End-of-life symptom management and integrative approaches to pain relief
- Emerging Areas: Artificial intelligence in anesthesia, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), telemedicine in pain care, and patient safety and quality improvement
